Merry Christmas

I wanted to wish everyone...

A Very Merry Christmas!

I hope that all of you are having a wonderful day with family and friends. It is just my DH and I today. He is making a vary tasteful ham with all the regular sides. I can't wait for it to be done. I have already talked to my family and son in California and I miss them all so much. We were suppost to be there this year but money got too tight. We do have plans to be there in February though. I can't wait. I talked to my other son as well. It is so different not having them here today. They grow up way too fast. Well, have a great day and take care!

Christmas card

I thought that today I would put on my Christmas card that I made for this year. I had so much fun making it. I will say it took me forever to come up with an idea for it. I spent hours looking at other Christmas cards on various sites for ideas. I knew for sure that I wanted to use the light post but was very unsure what to put with it. I finally decided on the carolers out sharing they warm cheer under a beautiful holiday decorated street light. This is a side note but I live in a very small town(less then 5000) and one of the things I enjoy the most is when they decorate the old fashion style street lights on the main road, which is why I wanted to use them.

I first used Cricut cartridge Jolly Holiday for the light which is cut at 4". The carolers are from Winter Frolic. They're cut at 3". I so wish I would of had a Gypsy to do this card as I hated the fact that I had to just about everything out twice on the carolers because of the way this cartridge is. I also wanted to change some of the colors around which added to the cuts. Now I am a lot more familiar with CCR so next time I will use that.

Next, I used my Cuttlebug to emboss the background with D'vine Swirls to simulate snow. I caulked the snow on the light post with a Cat's Eye pad in Lagoon. I also added a little more to the book by caulking it with Dark Brown and then I added some music notes that I just drew on. I used my ATG to adhere everything and then I used pop dots to make the carolers standout. On the inside of the card I stamped it with a My Pink Stamper stamp. Here are my ingredients:

-Paper: Bazzill
-Cricut cartridges: Winter Frolic, Jolly Holiday
-Emboss: Cuttlebug's D'vine Swirls
-Ribbon: American Crafts
-Caulk: Cat's Eye, Lagoon & Dark Brown
-Stamp: My Pink Stamper-"Biggie Christmas"
-Stamp pad: Close to My Heart, Black
-Adhesive: 3M, Eksuccess pop dots

I am really proud of this card and I'm very happy with the way it turned out. Of course after it took me so long to come up with the idea for this card that maybe I should get started on thinking what next year's Christmas card will look like now. Lol :) Have a wonderful Christmas and a very Happy New Year!
